Check out this interview with Author/Journalist Alan Dale about his book DNA: CODE FLESH

Today's interview is with Author/Journalist Alan Dale.  Alan has recently released his book 'DNA: CODE FLESH' (part 1).  Conspiracy fans... this is no ordinary novel.  Check it out to find out more.

I am Alan Dale. Long-time journalist, long-time revolutionist, lifelong rebel. I have written on sports, news, politics, education, and entertainment, having won seven
national awards, mainly in my youth. I currently am set to release my second full-length novel, "Dead Nations' Army Book 1: Code Flesh." My first was "The Enternet" and my
DNA novel was promoted via a teaser novella that's been out on Amazon for about 10 weeks. I also run WERZOMBIES PRESS, which focuses on a mix of entertainment, news,
politics, and social issues coverage. Right now I am looking to blow that baby up.

Can you give me any juicy details about your book, without divulging too great of a spoiler?

Plain and simply, the first DNA book is a propaganda piece wrapped in a zombie metaphor. This is not your typical zombie story. The zombies are the victim.
This is a vehicle to educate the people of this planet that we are in deep, deep, trouble. We must fight back. The governments of this planet want us out.
The 99 percent are in jeopardy of extinction or mass civil wars. The inherited wealth have taken over and it is their goal to have it all with us out of the way.
DNA will terrify you more for what could be than for what you actually read...and that is terrifying in itself.

How long did it take you to write it?

The original version, a movie script, took three days. The novel? In actual writing time of 78,000 words? About a month, maybe three weeks. Usually I average 5-10K words a sitting.

What are you working on now? Any projects in the works?

Well I have a goal to finish the rest of the Trilogy, so I will work on DNA: Code Mind next along with the first book in my YA series, Resurrection of Game. That's about a
basketball team and program I used to coach and the amazing run they had despite the odds. I will then either begin my NIGEL of the UNDERDARK trilogy (also an original
script) or 24=1M which will blow your minds.
Also, I am obviously working on the SUMMER 150 Tour which involves the interviews of 150 persons within the Independent writing world. The goal is to get them all in by the end of July. It's goal is to help authors cross promote their works for 60 days with 149 others of their ilk. So far its gone ok.

Who’s your favorite character in it?

The scrats/zombies of DNA...because I know what they become and I love karma...

When reading, do you prefer eBook or paperback?

Print still, but I love the relaxing, non-hand cramping style an e-book offers.

What one word describes how you feel when you write?

Revolutionary.

Who designed this cover?

James Powell. I may also use a team of artists for various aspects of the DNA franchise. Especially if we go with 12 prequel novellas for the various characters of
the trilogy.

What are your pet peeves?

A lack of accountability, hypocrisy, bullying, laziness, a sense of entitlement when nothing is earned, and last but not least Facebook members who have internet muscles.

What has surprised you most about being an author?

How easy the transition was from being a journalist. I think that training prepares you for being able to plug plot holes and also not have to rely on, in my opinion the
safer and easier first person POV. I use many different POVs in stories and it seems to work. Why? Because I was trained to use 12-15 sources in a news article and
yet keep the reader on task. That is a skill as well as a learned talent. Being born in Chicago and seeing so many people daily, it got easy to follow the script
taking place around me despite dozens of different faces and voices.

What’s your favorite beverage?

Diet Pepsi.

So do you like to cook?

Yes and I am actually decent at it.

What’s your favorite ice cream?

When I was 9, Baskin Robbins created "Chocolate Cupcake." I freaking LOVED IT....LOVED IT....it was a flavor of the month. Then it left...to never come back. So
I have settled for Peanut Butter and Chocolate.

Do you normally eat for breakfast, of do you skip it and get straight to work?

Yes, since my girlfriend is an amazing cook, I wake up with my mouth open going num, num, num!

What is something you never leave home without (apart from keys, money and phone)?
A book (because you never know if you'll get stuck somewhere) or my laptop (always working)

Do you sleep in or get up early?

I am a 2 a.m. - 8 a.m. sleeper

Which do you use most for writing on, laptop or desktop?

Laptop all the way.

What are your thoughts on receiving book reviews - the good and the bad ?

I like em all as long as they aren't bots sent by trolls. Good ones reinforce your beliefs and bad ones can push you forward.

List 3 books you’ve just recently read and would recommend?

11.22.63, would recommend
Faithful Place, would not recommend
Generation Me, absolutely recommend

If your book was made into a TV series or Movie, what actors would you like to see playing your characters?

Bridjett Alexi Emmanuelle Chirqui or Elyza Duzhku
Shad Alexi Channing Tatum
Dr. Amy Laura Linney
Lee Uttermost John Hamm
Drako Fortellis Tom Sizemore
Rico True Michael K. williams
The lead zombie/scrat George W. Bush

Where can readers purchase this novella?

Amazon

Thank you for your time in doing this very interesting interview, Alan.  I'll continuing to read those articles on your 'SUMMER 150 TOUR'.  Quite interesting stuff you have on those pages.
